Based at an altitude of 2,050 meters in the valley of the Beas River, Manali is a very popular hill station. It is located 270 kilometers north of Shimla (the state capital of Himachal Pradesh) and is very close to the Kullu Valley. Hadimba Temple

If you are very eager to know the story of the Mahabharata era, make the Hadimba Temple as a part of your Manali tour. It, also called as Dhundri Temple, was constructed in 1553 in honor of Bhima’s wife, Hadimba and is made of stone and wood. The temple walls have woodcarvings. In the month of May, a three day Dhungri Mela is organized every year and animal sacrifices are carried out during the festival.

Buddhist Mansteries

Manali has a large number of Tibetans who are followers of Buddhism and hence, you will find several beautiful monasteries here. One of popular monasteries is the Gadhan Thekchoking Gompa Monastery which has multicolored wall paintings along with medium size Lord Buddha statue. Another popular monastery is the Himalayan Nyingamapa Gompa famous for a large statue of Buddha having golden face.

Old Manali

Old Manali, based 2.5 kilometers above the Mall, still makes you feel mountain village. So, don’t forget it to include in your Manali tour. It has numerous stone and old wood homes. In addition to these, you will come across the Manu Maharishi Temple which dedicated to the founder of Manali, Saint Manu.

Solang Valley

In search of peace, include the Solang Valley in your Manali trip. Located at an altitude of around 8500 feet above the sea level, it is just around 10 kilometers away from Manali. Here you can view the bliss of nature on the banks of the River Beas, snow capped peaks, lush greenery of dense forests, glaciers etc. In winter, you can enjoy skiing, sledging and snowboarding and in summer, you will have opportunity for enjoying zorbing, paragliding, horse riding and mountain biking.

Nehru Kund

Just 6 kilometers away from the heart of Manali, Nehru Kund was named after the first Indian Prime Minister Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and is a place to bring mortal on earth. He loved visiting the place and drinking the crystal clear water of spring. You will have the feel of music from the sound of bubbling water amid peaceful atmosphere of the place. Its peaceful atmosphere makes it to be included in almost all Manali packages.

Rohtang Pass 

It is one of the most fascinating and adventurous places in Manali and draws numerous tourists. Located at an altitude of 4112 above the sea level, the Rohtang Pass gives an exquisite view of mountain ranges. Normally it remains away from the reach of tourists and you can be lucky to reach there.
