1. Munnar
There would hardly be anyone who is not aware of this hill station in India. Located in the Western Ghats, it is the place where you feel that you are in nature’s lap. It is surround by three rivers namely Kundaly, Madhurapuzha and Nallathanni.
This hill station offers you the opportunity to enjoy lush green surroundings, forests, tea plantations, waterfalls, lakes, reservoirs, winding lanes and spectacular views. Here you can visit Mattupetty, Eravikulam National Park, Pambadum Shola National Park, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Marayoor, Peerumedu, Periyar Tiger Reserve, Mount Carmel Church, Blossom International Park etc.
2. Chembra Peak, Wayanad
Based 2100 meters above the sea level at the southern part of Wayanad, Chembra Peak draws numerous visitors for trekking, as it the tallest peak here. The main attraction of this hill area is heart-shaped lake, which never dries according to the belief of locals.
You can have permission from the Forest Department for one to two days wildlife treks. You will have an opportunity to trek the area in the group of ten persons or yourself.
3. Devikulum
Just 5 kilometres away from the famous tourist place Munnar, Devikulum also holds importance in tourism. Coming to this hill station, you will have a view of Sita Devi Lake in hilly surroundings, the natural vegetation of gum trees, the beauty of Pallivasal Waterfalls and dense forests. At the Sita Devi Lake, you can enjoy the picnic with your near & dear ones and cool air along with exotic flora & fauna.
4. Ponmudi
Located in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, Ponmudi is known as the Golden Peak. As a part of the Western Ghats, it tropical forest rolls down the hill range and is a treat to eyes.
Here you can have stunning views of salubrious atmosphere, water streams, twisted trails, natural beauty, and scenic splendour. In addition, you can visit Agasthyarkoodam Biosphere Reserve, Ponmudi Falls, Golden Valley, Echo Point etc.
5. Peermade
Situated at an altitude of 915 meters, Peermade (small hilly town) can make a place in your Kerala tour. It offers several picnic spots and picaresque views. Some of the famous picnic spots are Grampi, Peeru Hills, Wagamon, Pattumala, Sahayadri Ayurvedic Centre, Thrissanku Hills and Kuttikanam.
Here you can trek, walk on rolling hills, and get an Ayurvedic massage. Further, you can visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary for catching a glimpse of elephant herds along with several others. Visit Peermade between March and May.
